Between Skibbereen and Baltimore lies the scenic location of Lough Hyne, designated as Ireland's first Marine Nature Reserve in 1981. Overlooking the lake is Knockomagh Wood, which is also designated a nature reserve. It’s a native wood and contains Yew and Oak trees which are thought to descend from our native woods.
Using no voice over or interviews and only recording sync-sound, Lough Hyne attempts to capture the natural world in real time. At its heart is the notion of a film where the viewer is given time to contemplate the texture of the natural world and their own place in it.
